Forte Engineering has obtained Cyber Essentials Plus certification. This achievement demonstrates our ongoing commitment to cyber security and our dedication to protecting our data and systems against cyber threats.

Cyber Essentials is a government-backed certification scheme that helps keep organisational data safe from cyber-attacks.

Following our Cyber Essentials award in November 2025, we wanted to go one step further, by obtaining Cyber Essentials Plus.

Cyber Essentials is recommended as the minimum standard of cyber security for all organisations recommended by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). Cyber Essentials Plus is the highest level of the UK Government-backed Cyber Essentials certification scheme. While the standard Cyber Essentials certification involves a self-assessment of security controls, Cyber Essentials Plus goes further, requiring a hands-on technical audit conducted by independent security assessors. Achieving this certification involved a rigorous assessment process carried out by the Forte Engineering Management Team, including an in-depth audit of our systems and practices. This demonstrates that our systems and processes have been rigorously tested to ensure we have defences in place and working exactly as they should.

Derek Riddell, Forte Engineering Limited’s Managing Director said: "We are delighted to receive the Cyber Essentials Plus certification. With our ever-increasing reliance on technology, it is vital that we take steps to protect our IT infrastructure and data from cyber-attacks. This certification demonstrates our commitment to cyber security and helps us to build trust in our systems with our clients, reinforcing us as a trusted partner for civils, mechanical, electrical and telecoms projects in the rail sector.”
